Dr. Jill Biden wore the Mariposa Earrings,
from our Desert Blooms Collection. The
statement studs feature a floral silhouette
set in white gold with chromatic blue
sapphire slice petals outlined in diamonds
with a gleaming diamond center. The
design is inspired by iconic wildflowers
that bloom in the California desert and
symbolize enduring hope and overcoming
adversity.
Echoing Dr. Biden’s dress by Gabriela Hearst embroidered with the federal flowers of every U.S. state and territory, the design symbolizes unity, as myriads of diverse wildflowers coming together to celebrate new life.

Honoring the occasion
Ruchi New York is creating a limited edition of the Blue Sapphire Mariposa Earrings that Dr. Biden wore to the inaugural celebration. Each pair of earrings will be signed and numbered by the designer.
In honor of Dr. Biden’s commitment to education, a portion of all proceeds from these limited-edition earrings will benefit NAF, a national non-profit that provides career-focused education tohigh school students from underserved and under-resourced communities.
Each piece of Mariposa Earring is unique since no two stones are exactly alike. The design highlights the natural beauty of sapphires and its colors and shapes.

On a family trip to California's Anza Borrego Desert State Park, Ruchi observed the glory of a million flowers blooming together. In this rare natural phenomenon, the seeds that laid dormant awaken together. Different wildflowers explosively bloom to transform the dry desert floor with breathtaking glory. The collection symbolizes the fierce, enduring hope that triumphs adversity and emerges with beauty.
